As The Littles Grow

Before we start

The Meltdown Rewind

Somewhere to put the hard moments, so they start to make sense.

Each rewind you do gets saved here. After a few weeks you can look back and notice what keeps coming up, instead of trying to work out every hard day on its own.

Just two things to get you started.

Everything you put in stays on your own device. Nothing gets sent anywhere, and there is no account to set up.

Come back to this part

Right now, the rewind can wait

Nothing needs to be understood in the middle of it. Understanding is for later. Right now the whole job is just getting through.

Your calm is the loudest thing in the room. It does not have to be perfect calm. Slow breath, low voice, fewer words, close enough that they can feel you.

You do not have to talk them out of it or shorten it. Big feelings move through faster when someone steady stays nearby.

When everyone has reset, later today or tomorrow, come back and rewind it. It will make a lot more sense than it does right now.

Start with the moment

The part that looked like the cause. We come back to it at the end.

When in the day?
How big was it?
How long did it last?

What likely came before

    The bucket

The final straw versus the real cause

What it may have been communicating

    A pattern worth watching

A couple of small things that might soften next time

None of these are a system, and none of them are about correcting your child. They are just small ways to leave a little more room in the bucket.

This is reflection, not an evaluation. If the hard moments involve anyone getting hurt, are ramping up sharply over time, or are leaving you feeling consistently out of your depth, an occupational therapist, your pediatrician, or a child therapist can be a really good next step. Not because something is wrong, but because you deserve support too.

      Across your rewinds

      What they have in common

      To hand someone

      Summary to print

A plain one page of what you saved and when it happened. No interpreting, no labels. Handy for an occupational therapist, a pediatrician, a teacher, or anyone who asks how things have been going.

      Everything you have saved

      All my rewinds

      A moment

      Keeping it safe

      Back up or restore

Your rewinds live on this device only. Nothing is kept on a server, which is what keeps them private. It also means they stay with the browser you are using right now.

It is worth downloading a backup every so often. If you clear your browser, switch phones, or want this on your laptop too, that file brings everything back.

Starting over. If you want to clear everything and begin again, this removes every saved rewind from this device and cannot be undone. Download a backup first if there is any chance you want them later.
